Define a rule once — project, issue type, summary, schedule and timezone — and the issues are created automatically, on time, every time. An hourly scheduler running inside Atlassian's cloud does the work. There's nothing to host.
Opening the app
Once installed, open it from Jira's admin settings (you'll need to be a Jira administrator): Settings (gear) → Apps → switch the dropdown to Marketplace apps → in the left sidebar under Apps, click Recurring Issues.
Creating a rule
Rule name — a label for you (not shown on created issues).
Project and Issue type — where the issue is created and what kind it is.
Issue summary — the title every created issue will carry.
Description — optional body text.
Assignee, Reporter, Priority, Due date, Labels — optional details. Due date is relative to creation (e.g. "3 days after"). Reporter defaults to the app; pick a person to attribute issues to them.
Subtasks / checklist — one item per line; each becomes a subtask under the created issue.
Scheduling and timezones
Repeats — Daily, Weekly (pick the weekday) or Monthly (pick the date, 1-28).
At — the hour the issue is created.
Timezone — each rule runs in its own timezone, defaulting to your browser's.
The scheduler checks every hour, so an issue is created within its chosen clock-hour.
Managing rules
Run now — create the issue immediately, to test a rule.
Pause / Resume — stop a rule firing without deleting it.
Edit / Delete — change or remove the rule.
How automatic creation works
A scheduled trigger runs once an hour in Atlassian's cloud. On each run it checks every active rule against the current time in that rule's timezone and creates the issue for any rule that is due. A per-hour guard ensures a rule fires at most once in its scheduled hour, so there are never duplicates.
Privacy & security
The app runs entirely on Atlassian Forge. All data stays inside Atlassian's cloud — no external servers, no third-party services.
